It's 2007, y'all

We've been asked to clarify a little confusion about the older posts on the blog: this is literally the same blog we had last year, so all of our posts from last year are still on here. We'd like to keep the old posts for posterity and fond memories, so as a general rule of thumb: if it was posted in 2006, we probably already have it. Who loves ya, baby?

Wii Points

There's a lotta cool stuff available for download over Nintendo's Wii online service: classic games and import games that never came out in the U.S. But they all cost Wii Points to get. You can find Wii Points Gift Cards at most stores that sell electronics; I recommend locally-owned Game Craze, with many locations in the Rochester area.

French Press!

Julie gave me a french press for Christmas last year, but it's broke, so I need a new one. French-pressed coffee is some good coffee.

Traditional Irish Mead

Mead is a centuries-old European beverage made from fermented honey. In the U.S., the names "mead" and "honey wine" are often used interchangeably, but much of what is sold as "honey wine" fits that name perfectly: it is a light, sweet, white desert wine.

Traditional mead, on the other hand, should be dark amber, thick, and robust. It almost drinks more like a beer than a wine. Jan once got me a bottle that was imported from Ireland, but I haven't been able to find it since.

If you manage to find a bottle of real, old-fashioned mead at your local liquor store, grab a bottle for yourself as well and see what you've been missing. After all, any drink that's still around after 1,000 years has gotta be doing something right.

Thanks for once again returning to Janah and Dave's Christmas Blog. It's been a year of big changes for us, and we can't wait to spend our Holiday with all of you.
