Five seconds left on the clock...

Almost friggin' Christmas and you need just one more thing for Dave?!? Can't go wrong with Live Points. These prepaid cards are the virtual currency used for buying indie games, extra levels and characters, and Rock Band songs over the Xbox Live online service. Way, way more useful than your ordinary, everyday gift card to a real, brick-and-mortar store. Who still goes to those things, anyway? :)

Available in $20 or $50 denominations, wherever video games are sold. (BTW, $20 = 1600 Points. Sounds stupid, but apparently it makes more sense with Euros.)

P.S. Nintendo has their own download network for the Wii, with their own cards. I like those too.

Weave me into your heart

If you're still stuck on what to get Jan, here's a thought. Its sorta out of left field...but today I was in the art room watching the kids weave, and it made me remember that I've always wanted to weave! This is a child's/beginner loom. This is the best price I've found online, but the shipping is alot....I wonder if it can be purchased in a store?
I will make you a scarf! :)

Sushi Plates

Dave and I have been into sushi lately (fakey though---just vegetable, we're not ready for the raw fish). I'd like to have a set of sushi dishes. It seems to me like it would be the type of thing that Pier 1 would have, but last time we were there I looked, and no soup. So don't go crazy looking for these or anything...but if you happen to run across some, It would be cool to have!

Note: This is just an example...doesn't have to be this set or anything. :) Wasabi!

"I'm Jesus. I like everybody. That's my thing, man."

You have almost certainly seen some member of The State in some higher-profile venture (like Reno! 911, perhaps). But the original NYU comedy troupe from the early nineties produced some of the smartest (and dumbest, at the same time, which is kinda the point) sketch comedy you've never heard of. The original MTV series was stranded in limbo for nearly fifteen years before finally arriving on DVD earlier this year. I must have it.

Smellin' Crazy!

My ma and I have been lovin' the Crazylibellule and the Poppies solid perfumes from France. They smell great! But...I'm all out! There is a 3 pack special deal at Sephora: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P242711&cm_mmc=us_search-_-GooglePA-_-P242711-_-1200500&_requestid=42976&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=1200500

or they are sold individually at this site for the lowest price I've seen:

Thank you!

Poppin' Sabuda

Its me, Jan! I'm OBSESSED with the author and illustrator Robert Sabuda's pop-up books. You wouldn't believe what this guy can make pop-out of a book- it's unreal! I'd like a couple of his books because I love them so much and so I can take them to school to show the kids. I don't usually buy pop-up books for the library because they are so delicate, but I'd still like to let the kids see the books when they come to the library. I've seen these books at Barnes and Noble, Borders and on Amazon. Here are a couple that I'd love to have:

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

Peter Pan

Wonderful Wizard of Oz

I made the switch to an electric razor last year (thanks Mom and Dad!) and never looked back. My face loves this thing. It's easy to keep it running like new, too, with replaceable blades, foils and cleaning fluid.

Rock me out

Played a road gig last weekend... meaning we brought the whole Rock Band kit and kaboodle home to Sodus Point to play with the Spears kids. Man, that drum kit is an awkward, oversized monster. Good thing the Rock Band Portable Drum Kit is now only $19.99 at Gamestop.

Roll Me In

I've always thought these things were neat. Remember that episode of Star Trek? Where Picard liked that chick, and she had one of these? And they had a little jam session in one of the Jeffries Tubes. Which was only possible because this chick totally had a portable piano. 'Cause it was the future. Wow.

I don't think it worked out between them, though. She died. Or got transferred off the ship. Or something.

The point is, these things'll still be cool, even in the 24th century. And in the here and now, I can't think of a better way to practice vocals if I'm doing a musical away from home.

Oooh! This one on eBay has a MIDI port ($37 after shipping). A moblie music studio!

Can't Buy Me Luhhh-uuvv!

Rock Band: The Beatles has rekindled my relationship with the Fab Four. I put all their albums back on my iPod and... wow, the old digital masters really do sound thin, hollow and weak, especially compared to songs recorded in the last ten years or so.

Oh, what? What's that you say? You say the newly re-mastered CDs recapture the warm, rich, vibrant sound of the original studio recordings? That it's like hearing them for the first time all over again? That it's like a choir of Liverpudlian angels descended from on high, took up arms with a Hofner bass and a Ludwig drum kit, and brought peace and harmony to the peoples of the world through the power of song?

Sounds good to me.

Growing Gigabytes

Hi! It's Dave. In the future, we'll buy everything over the Internet. Even games! Oh wait, we already do that now! Video game consoles have hard drives in them nowadays, just like computers. So you can buy games directly from the publisher over the Internet, and store them right inside your system.

The big upshot of this is that game makers can take chances on smaller, more experimental games that would be too risky to publish on a disc and sell in stores. I like this idea so much that my current hard drive is nearly full. Wanna help me out?

Sniff Sniff AHHHhhh

If you know anything about Jan, you know that she loves smelling stuff. One of my favorite smells is the "Sage and Citrus" scent of Yankee Candles. One of these bad boys would really stink up the house nice!

Re-Runs!

Last year, you gave me (Jan) some lovely bath butters and lotions. I used them all up this year, thats how much I loved them! I'd love some more body butter from The Body Shop

and I LOVED the Donna Karan "Cashmere Mist" Body Creme

Filter for Jan's camera

For my birthday this year, Dave and Jack gave me the best camera in the world, thanks guys! There is one thing that's missing though, and its the filter that protects the lens. Jack, Dave, I'm not sure what this piece is called or where you buy it, but I'd love to have one to keep the lens perfect!

We're Baaaaaaaack!

Hi family members! It was great to see everybody at Thanksgiving! There have been some requests for blog updates, so here we go. Christmas 2009, baby!!
